The Sultan Series is our beach-first Turkish towel. Same flat-woven Turkish cotton as the classic range, in a clean woven-stripe design finished with a long twisted fringe, so it works as a towel you lie on rather than one you only dry off with.
Handmade in Turkey and available in five colours: acqua, blue, purple, pink and milky brown.
Size and fabric
- Size. 100 x 180cm, roughly 3 x 6 feet. Wide enough to lie on, long enough to wrap in.
- Fabric. 100% Turkish cotton, flat-woven with fine stripes and a hand-knotted fringe.
- Care. Machine washable and tumble dry safe, with no artificial softeners used in the finish.
Why it suits the beach
- Sand does not stick. There is no deep pile for it to bury into, so a shake is usually enough. This is the difference people notice first.
- Dries fast. Flat-woven cotton holds much less water than terry, so it is dry again by the time you leave.
- Packs flat. Folds down small enough that taking two is no harder than taking one.
- Doubles as a throw. Large enough to use as a picnic blanket, a wrap on a cool evening or a cover over a chair.
- Softens with age. Turkish cotton improves over the first few washes instead of going flat.
Care
Machine wash warm with like colours. Avoid fabric softener, it coats the fibres and reduces absorbency. Tumble dry low or line dry.
