How to Make Sure Your New Bidet Matches Your Toilet

Toilet Pan Shapes - What You Need to Know
To ensure a proper fit, the most important factor is your toilet pan shape. In Australia, the most common pan shapes are:
- Elongated: Long, oval shape with a more extended seat surface
- D-shape: Modern curved design with straight sides and a rounded front
- Round: Compact, circular shape typically found in older homes
Each bidet product on our website clearly lists which toilet pan it fits. Before purchasing, check the shape of your current toilet.
How to Check Before You Buy
Step 1: Measure the space. Measure the distance from the base of your cistern (tank) to the front of the bowl. This is the measurement that rules a seat in or out more often than any other. The minimum varies by model, from 490mm to 510mm, and every product page now lists the exact figure for that seat along with the three other measurements it needs. If your pan measures under 490mm, no seat in our range will fit.
Step 2: Confirm your pan shape. Every product page lists the pan shapes that model fits, and the Compare page shows all fifteen side by side. Here is the range at a glance:
- All three shapes: DIB C410, C430, C450R, C830, C850R, N850, N850R, and the Luelue LB7000
- D-shape only: Luelue LB5000 D-Shape, Luelue LB6000 Hybrid, Mr Bumwash MB1000 D-Shape, DIB U850, DIB U850R
- Round only: Luelue LB5000 Round, Mr Bumwash MB1000 Round
The U850 and U850R are purpose-built for D-shape pans, which is why they sit flatter on the pan than a universal seat does.
Step 3: Check your power outlet. All electric bidet seats need a standard 240V Australian power outlet. The power cord is 1.5m long.
Step 4: Check which side your water comes in.
Stand facing the toilet and look at where the water supply hose connects to your cistern. Whether it comes in on your left or your right decides which model connects cleanly, with no extra fittings and no surprises on installation day.
